Power of Attorney Services

What Is a Power of Attorney?

Power of Attorney (POA) is a legal document that allows one person (the Principal) to authorize another trusted person (the Agent or Attorney-in-Fact) to act on their behalf. Depending on the type of Power of Attorney, the Agent may be authorized to handle financial matters, real estate transactions, vehicles, personal property, healthcare decisions, or other specific responsibilities.

At GVA Services Multiples LLC, we prepare Power of Attorney documents based on the information and instructions you provide.

Service Fee: $50 per document

General Power of Attorney

A General Power of Attorney authorizes another person to manage a broad range of financial and personal affairs on your behalf. Depending on your instructions, these powers may include:

  • Banking  transactions
  • Financial matters
  • Buying  or selling property
  • Managing personal assets
  • Vehicle transactions
  • Other lawful financial responsibilities

Limited (Special) Power of Attorney

A Limited Power of Attorney gives another person authority to perform only specific tasks or transactions.

Examples include:

  • Selling or transferring a vehicle
  • Buying  or selling real estate
  • Signing documents for a specific transaction
  • Managing a particular financial account
  • Handling a specific business matter

A Limited Power of Attorney may also include an expiration date or terminate automatically after the authorized task has been completed.

Durable Power of Attorney

A Durable Power of Attorney is designed to remain effective even if you later become incapacitated, provided it complies with Florida law.

This document is commonly used for long-term financial planning and allows your chosen Agent to continue handling authorized matters if you become unable to do so yourself.

Florida Healthcare Power of Attorney

A Healthcare Power of Attorney allows you to appoint someone you trust to make healthcare decisions on your behalf if you are unable to communicate or make medical decisions yourself.

Depending on your instructions and Florida law, this document may authorize your Agent to:

  • Speak  with physicians and healthcare providers.
  • Access medical records when legally permitted.
  • Discuss  treatment options.
  • Work  with hospitals, pharmacies, and medical facilities.
  • Make  healthcare decisions if you become incapacitated due to illness, injury, surgery, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or another medical condition.

Florida Powers of Attorney

Our primary focus is preparing Florida Power of Attorney documents that comply with Florida law.

We can also prepare Power of Attorney documents intended for use in other states based on forms or instructions provided by the client. However, because laws differ from state to state, we recommend consulting a licensed attorney in the applicable jurisdiction if legal advice is needed.

What to Bring

To prepare your Power of Attorney, please bring:

  • A valid government-issued photo ID.
  • The full legal name, address, and contact information of the person you wish to appoint as your Agent.
  • A description of the powers you want to grant.

Any special instructions or limitations you would like included

If you have questions regarding your legal rights or which type of Power of Attorney is appropriate for your situation, you should consult a licensed Florida attorney.
